The person who turned me on to them told me to apply them exactly as I
said, first draining the blister overnight, so it is not seeping under
the pad, then using the Tincture Benzoin Compound. (I now carry it in
a 10ml eye drops bottle, which makes the application easy)

For me they stick well and were a godsend. Every step was painful
walking into Wrightwood, and I had no pain walking out, after I was
given the Compeed. I know some people who apply duct tape over the pad
to keep the edges from adhering to their socks, but I have never done
this.

A few times I have not had the Tincture Benzoin Compound, and they
didn't work very well.

Of course, as Mieke said, YMMV
