Chapstick is always a good thing to have. When I was in the military way back in the day, I had a small blister and the medic tossed me a tube of Chapstick and bandaid and told me to use it on the blister. It provided a bit of pain relief and coating that I recall was helpful. It can be used on insect bites as well. While I'm thinking of it, I imagine it might work for lubricating your tent and backpack zippers if they are being stubborn. I suppose in a pinch you could use it for your lips too :-)

Towards the end of the hike in the high Sierras one thing I would have killed for was skin moisturiser. I strongly recommend you pack some in your resupply at Tuolumne Meadows and Echo Lake (or buy from store and smother it on. When I came off Mt Whitney my skin was like a sheading lizard. Obviously being in low humidity for a couple of weeks sucked every bit on natural oils I had in my skin.
