If you are looking for an external battery to power your electronics, such as a cell phone or MP3 player for the trail, look at the SunTactics batteries. Their batteries are lighter per mAh and I have found them to be extremely honest with their product spects. For the trail, I have been using a 6000 mAh battery that will charge my iPhone 4S from near dead to full charge 3 times, weighs 4.2 oz on my scale and that is all the battery I find that need.
