[pct-l] SOCAL Section C Questions

Just a couple of notes from a local:

Whitewater can easily be in the 100's-110's during that stretch; do make
certain to hydrate. The preserve itself has water (and normally a pool to
dip in), but is the last reliable water for a while.

I've found water caches all along the ridge from Coon Creek Cabin to
Highway 18 at many times of year, but none of them are totally reliable.
You might consider caching at Coon Creek and/or Onyx Summit. Arrestre has
piped water in the hot months.

Deep Creek at Splinter's Cabin and the hot springs is always running, so
there's no need to cache there. Tanking up before the dam will get you to
Lake Silverwood; tanking up there should get you to I-15

In recent years, we've been relatively snow-free in November (sadly), but
there's no guarantee we won't get a couple of feet. With possible El Nino
conditions this year, it's up in the air. On the other hand, we still
routinely hit the 80's in November, so it's really a roll of the dice.

It's a great section at all times of the year (if rather warm much of the
time), so enjoy!
