Can someone send me a snail mail address for the Anderson's? Just wrote a thank you note and can't find their address online. 

In response to some themes in the conversation of the new generation of hikers --

As a new/old hiker (first trip with a backpack Mar 2013 at Campo, age at that time 65) I want to say how deeply grateful I am for trail angel generosity. I could not have come this far (1250 mi) on my retirement dream of a multi-year thru solo hike without overwhelming kindness and generosity from so many. Not only have you helped me make my dreams come true, you taught me and inspired me about the joy of giving (maybe this ole dog can still learn a few new tricks?). I also must bow and kiss the ground -- not only the earth itself that gave me the trail, but that hi tech trail angel the iphone -- and Halfmile and guthook and Ritchie Ruff (PCTHYOH) whose apps helped me find the trail (again and again and again) when I lost it --or decide abt weather and safety and water and places to camp. 

I think its easy to get in the habit of receiving and to act entitled -- human nature, we are creatures of habit. The best antidote is to pay it forward, make a practice of discovering how when and where we can discover our own joy in giving (duty just doesn't do it). May we all discover the joy of giving every day of our lives. We start fresh every day, old or young.
