Drove through Tioga Pass on Friday and at the entrance station on the east side (10k ft) ground almost 95% covered (1-3 ft ?) and the lakes were still frozen. At Tuolumne Meadows no snow in the meadows north of 41 but large patches in the trees 1-2 feet deep 50-80% covered.
The rivers in the valley were flowing pretty good (peak flow) so I think the snow is melting very rapidly and another heat wave is on forecast for next week.
The Tuolumne campground is not scheduled to open until July 10 because I think they are doing maintenance in the campground. Not sure if this is going to affect the store/post office opening as well.

Subject: [pct-l] Sierra reports from bloggers
Greetings:
I am heading to Kennedy Meadows Friday and was wondering if anyone has read a PCT blog of someone currently in the Sierras?
I saw Ted's report which was helpful - Thanks! - and am looking for more details of the coming week.
Andrea
