Hi. If you're referring to apps for the PCT, Halfmile PCT, as well,as the PCT apps from Guthook, are both excellent. The former is free and the latter is $6 for each section, which i think is very reasonable.  Im using both of them as they complement each other quite well. Guthook can be found on the google play store.  Halfmile from its website.

What you do is download the apps on your Android phone and then download the apps' maps onto the phone's harddrive.  Then, when on the trail, you activate the gps but also airplane mode to preserve battery life.  Both apps work like a charm and are quite accurate to within a few feet!  Hope this helps!  Btw, Guthook also has apps for other trails.
