[pct-l] Ocean Views from the PCT?

Would it make sense to re-route the trail here?  It would be nice to have at 
least one point actually on the trail where you could see the Pacific.  :)

If you leave the PCT at Kwaaymii Point (about Mile 53.4) and follow the old 
jeep trail that goes north just to the left of the PCT and then climb to the 
top of Garnet Mountain you get to a place with an excellent view on a clear 
day. I have been up there after a rain, when you could see the Coronado 
Islands to the west and turn around and see peaks in Joshua Tree. But you 
have to go a little off trail to get to this view point with the 
unobstructed view.
