[pct-l] Trail book recommendations?

Hey Kat,

The Wilderness Press books are great for all the info on the trail, it's
history and geography, botany and much much else, but not for actually
hiking it. Yogi's guide and Half Mile's maps are still the most useful for
a person hiking a section as big as you're tackling. Just her resource
guide for the small gear companies is worth it if you've never done a thru
hike before. A lot of more appropriate gear comes from these small US
companies, and not REI, even though that's still my favorite "toy store."
Her town guide is very useful for all the little places you'll be coming
into and being able to find what you need, and the tons of info from the
new pack of long trail hikers is invaluable for a first timer. Lint is one
of the new ones in this edition and a bunch of other great hikers.

And Half Mile's maps are simply the gold standard for hiking this trail, so
you had it right in the first sentence.

Have a wonderful summer!
