[pct-l] Why I'm I carrying an alcohol stove?

Hello All,

Could one use Esbit tabs in say a Vargo Triad alcohol stove without damaging
the alcohol stove function? I have used Esbit stoves on my section hikes
but would like to have the alcohol option as well.

Thank you,

I don't know how to capture the "fiddle with it" quotient, but alcohol has a
high (bad) FQ (fiddle quotient), imho. My Esbit tabs have a low FQ.
Canister, butane low but not so much because you can't tell how much fuel
you have left (on the trail). With Esbit tabs, you just count 'em.

Conventional wisdom says that if you cook for more than 1 person, alcohol
has no advantages over butane.
