[pct-l] Hoka shoes

I have never heard about being able to step out of your hiking shoes 
without unlacing them before.  Is this to prepare for foot spreading? 
It seems to me that it would result in too loose a shoe and more 
blisters.  Can someone offer me more information on this please?
