FYI , you can download historical USGS topo maps and more at http://viewer.nationalmap.gov/viewer/

I noticed a couple of sectionals going back to 1914.

I wonder if there is a Forest Map equivalent?

There is a learning curve to using the website because of all the options.

I have the 5 old Forest Service PCT maps for Wa and OR and they're in great shape. Wondering if anyone collects them or if they are a rare commodity.

Jinx

On the specs webpage at
http://www.suntactics.com/product/usb-solar-charger-5/ it shows the weight is 8.4 oz. The unit has a standard USB port and I could attach either the iPhone 5 to the port, or the battery to the port to charge one or the other.
The s5 has 4 holes on the corners and I used mini S-biners to attach it to the mesh on the top of my backpack.

The battery was external, and was purchased separately from Amazon. As I said it was an Anker 3000 mAh lipstick battery. See http://www.amazon.com/Astro-Lipstick-Sized-Portable-External-Technology/dp/B
005X1Y7I2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427080112&sr=8-2&keywords=Anker+3000+mAh.

As Dave said, the Suntactics s5 would and could charge my iPhone directly, but the iPhone needed to be turned on to do that, so when you went into shade, for example in the forests of Oregon, I found that the ratio of shade vs sun was insufficient to fully charge the phone very much. As a result I found using an intermediate battery to be the best solution.
