[pct-l] mountaineers needed for Antarctica

This is related to the PCT only in that folks with mountaineering
experience often are looking for seasonal work and have experience similar
to that below.

The Field Safety Coordinator (aka Mountaineer) is primarily responsible for
instructing the US Antarctic Program (USAP) field safety training courses
and participates in the daily operations of the field equipment center.


• A minimum of 8 years experience in outdoor education and leadership is
required, to include at least 4 years of technical mountaineering and
guiding in glaciated alpine environments.

• Mountain guiding certification in UIAGM, AMGA is preferred.

• Current CPR certification and current Wilderness First Responder
certification required. WEMT is preferred.

• Incident Command System (ICS) 100 and 200 certifications required for
offer consideration (training offered free through FEMA).

• Extensive experience in glacier mountaineering with demonstrated
expedition leadership is required.

• A proven ability to work in remote, harsh environmental, as a team
player, is required.

• Search and Rescue experience required.  Denali level or other big
mountain experience preferred.

• Valid Driver’s license is required.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
