Maybe this misses a part of the trail you want to see, but if you hop out at Chester there is bus transportation that will get you to Redding. I am south bounding a section this year and plan to bus to Redding and then Amtrak home.

Planning to do a section hike from Walker Pass to Mt Lassen this summer.  I have friends and family in SoCal that can get me to Walker, but I need to come up with a plan to get home from Mt Lassen.  Or rather, to get to Red Bluff or Redding where I can rent a car.



I've hitched in National Parks before, even though it is not really allowed.

Any thoughts as to what other transportation options there might be?
