That was a sad day I heard that news.  I was up there wandering around and heard it while taking a break at the old Kava's coffee house in Bishop.  Mountaineering accidents happen every year.  There is a book published just so folks can learn from others experiences and mistakes.  Like tumbling down steep ice or drowning in creeks.  It happens every year, and is rarely heard about.
