come very close to the trail between the border and Morena Res. This fire was
in fact named The Potrero Fire, which is the USGS 7.5&#8217; Quad name for the portion
of the PCT between the border and Moreana Res, hence the name.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

a few years back, I think before the Cedar Fire. And then there was, of course,
The Cedar Fire, but I don&#8217;t know if the PCT burned along the Sunrise Highway
during that fire.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

Spring and about a mile north toward San Ysidro creek.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></span></font></p>

10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'>From about <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Chihuahua</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Valley</st1:PlaceType> to the north foot of <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Combs</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Peak</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>,
there&#8217;s a nasty burn area.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

Creek climb that&#8217;s completely devastated from the Millard/Sawtooth

yet, but I hear the trail between <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Holcumb</st1:PlaceName>
 <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Valley</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> and Silverwood is
burned. Agua Dulce got hit with the recent fires too.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

have been damaged by fires and floods in the past couple of years?&nbsp;
Because of high gas prices and a falling stock market, this doesn't seem like a
good time to&nbsp;drive to <st1:country-region w:st="on">Canada</st1:country-region>
and <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Alaska</st1:place></st1:State>,
as we intended, so we're looking for&nbsp;alternates for next
year.&nbsp;&nbsp;The PCT would be easy on Jim's knees, which is a
consideration, and it has been seven years since we last hiked it, so it would
be a somewhat different experience from last time.&nbsp; However, if a lot of
the trail is closed or seriously damaged that would affect our enjoyment of the
trail - I find burn zones pretty depressing after a while.&nbsp; So - any
numbers of how much damage has been done and where?<br>
