I've gone over most of the JMT several times, once as my PCT hike.<br><br>I did the trail two years in a row, the first in 9 days, the second in 7. I even wrote an article a few years later in UltraRunning about how to do such a trip. This was Pre-Jardine (or at least pre his book on the PCT.)
<br><br>I don't care much for records, and that was pre-internet, so the community keeping track of such things was pretty sketchy.<br><br>We didn't have Syl Nylon, and made my pack and gaitors, made a bivy sack. I had a custom bag made by Western Mountaineering, and I used some of the original Mont-Bell stuff, before they got sold and the gear got heavier.
