I guess it is just a matter of what blow your skit up (pun intended :-)).
I have used garbage bags on the trail and definitely do not like them. I
have used them as rain jackets with arm/head holes and used them as pack
covers. It is just not for me. I find they work marginally well, but
there are better alternatives. Again, my rain jacket with hood (<A

and Rain Wrap (<A

are flexible and easy to use. The weight difference between the garbage
bags and these products are well worth the cost to me. Just personal
preference. Nothing more.</DIV>

quick to use and works great. The garbage bags just don't do it for
me. Plus, I think I look sexier on the trail in the rain than in a garbage
