tend to be from time to time) from listening and taking to heart what hikers
say, not from my own personal point of view. Personally, I sign
registers and am thrilled to put my name along side that of so many friends. I
am also a solo female hiker, and sign for safety reasons. OTOH I prefer not
to keep an online trail journal or write the details about my hikes for public
consumption, but I respect other’s desire to do either. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

trail has caused the hikers written about to lose privacy and feel stalked. I’m
sure the writers did not intend that to be the consequence, but it’s a

hope that other hikers aren't writing about you and your whereabouts and
posting on trail journals or elsewhere unbeknownst to you. In
other words, it's not just your own actions that can put information about you,
flattering or unflattering, factual or not factual, on the internet.
