I so completely agree with using a pack with some suspension. I can't imagine carrying a pack that rests on the shoulders instead of the hips. I would be fatigued in no time. I don't know how other hikers do it, even to save a lb or two off the pack weight. Nicht!!!!<br><br>Wheeew<br><br><b><i>"Robert W. Most of the lite weight packs have a smaller volume (3000ci). If found that with a down bag and a tarptent I have no problem fitting all of my gear including a bear canister into 3000ci. There are several packs with a full suspension in the two pound range that hold 3000ci. I get sore shoulders when I try to use a shoulders only type pack, especially after a resupply. For me it is worth the extra pound to
have a pack with a full suspension.</div> <div> </div> <div>Robert</div> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div>.................
