<div>Part of the reason we got into the trail angel trip was the local trail angel was becoming ill and the hotel and motels either cost $75+ a night or didn't want the smell for the "regular" guests to deal with. The post office was becoming overwhelmed with hiker boxes, the cafe didn't stay open.....and you were basically on your own in a poduck little town in the mts. We had no idea how the numbers would increase as the word got out. Donna hit it on the head when stating that little towns don't like the invasion of stinky strangers that mostly look homeless. And as she also mentioned the last couple of years the self entitlement attitude pisses off everyone who's not a hiker. Remember....you chose to hike the trail. Consideration for those you interact with on your hike and the trail is more important than you realize. If you're coming through Skykomish the door is always open here....year round. We do ask that you respect our home and our town. </div>
