[at-l] Vegetarian backpacking

I am a long time vegetarian. On the trail, I find my taste running
mainly to pasta: Lipton/Knorr side dishes particularly (common grocery
item). For breakfast on the trail, I regularly have oatmeal with
raisins, powdered milk, and brown sugar. My favorite packaged trail
food is made by Enertia. Not all Enertia trail food is vegetarian --
check the ingredient list for animal products. I don't like their TVP
dishes, but I'm especially fond of Moosilake Goulash, and Switchback
Spaghetti. For my September Long Trail hike I had Hit the Trail
(Internet mail order) send me packages to each of my mail drops. $4 for
4oz. +shipping. You might call it expensive, but it sure tastes good.
I've carried Mary Jane Farms trail food in the past. Everything she
sells is organic and vegetarian, but is expensive, and I don't find it
tasty enough to justify the expense.

I was surprised to find out how much I liked potato flakes on the
trail. Needs plenty salt.
