Socks, stinkin' socks is what gave me the only serious nauseating time 
on the AT.  By the time we got to Hiker's Paradise, you could smell them 
in Denmark!  All those charming young men.  I never figured out whether 
it was gross-out competition or just town laziness.  Yet another town 
thing that drove me back to the woods.
