I have a 12x50 from cabelas for hunting.  Nothing like it.  Money well
spent!   Of course, there is the question of budget.  I always buy for
the long term.

So...are 8x42s the right magnification for bird watching? Someone wanna 
help me understand about what I know about numbers with 'x's between 
them relative to binoculars?
