Well, he's got a spoon, so he could eat the crumbs--and has done so many times.  It's just nice if they arrive kinda semi-intact.  
 
On the other hand, cookie crumbs are also excellent over a cup of yogurt or on top of some ice cream if you're lucky enough to hit a convenience store.
