Thank you, eArThworm, for all of these recommendations and for all
that you do to promote literacy on/by/for/about hiking.
On a related note, i wonder if it would be possible for the folks on
the list who are very familiar with the various towns that the AT
passes through/near to contribute to a compilation of used-book stores
that are close to the Trail? I see that there a few such stores in
Harper's Ferry and Hanover, but there must, i hope, be more. I tried
once before to mail myself books that i thought that i'd like to read,
but it turned out about as well as mailing myself food that i thought
that i'd like to eat: not very well. Sometimes a nice little used book
store will offer up just what's needed, at just the right time.
