I'm in the 95% delete camp. Even abbeyweb email, which is usually pretty interesting and erudite, I'll just read what shows up in the pane as a rule.

Thats what I'm shooting for. The computer is a tool - a means to an end. If I have no purpose in using it, I shouldn't.

          Hey all,

A couple of days ago I crawled out from underneath the rock to make a quick post to the list. Some interesting comments on beer including links to you tube. On another thread there was a comment about face book. Well I don't have a face book page, I don't twitter, and I don't have a web page. I don't spent my time surfing the web and I definitely don't have time to surf you tube. In fact there are days that I do not even turn on my computer. Yesterday I was at work for five hours before I turned my computer on. It is not that I am a Luddite, it is that I have a life and I don't have time waste on the computer. Heck, I delete approximately 95% of my e-mail without even opening it up.

I am in a bit of a funk because of all of the rain. Zero hiking. No chance to take the telescope out and do some deep sky observing. Most of the birds are in hiding (thought I saw a Red Fox in the parking lot last night) so no bird watching. I am heading towards the Daks to help with a geological survey a chance to hike and do some birding.

Heck I don't even turn the TV on. I would much rather be reading a good book. The last one that I read was recommended on this list. My social networking consists of going to the local dive and drinking beer with the bikers. They are a lot better class of people than the Wall Street types. Maybe I see y'all on the trail. Going to do some hiking in PA, Vermont and Connecticut this summer. Another good way to network.

Shout out to all my friends (or is it friend) on the list.

          Clear skies and dry trails

          Grey Owl.
