[at-l] Snow in Grayson Highlands

Went to the Highlands for a bit of a hike, and it was snowing.
More like icy, hard bit than actual flakes, but all the chilly drama of
winter's first bite.
Nothing stuck to the fallen leaves for long, but the rime ice made the
bushes look ghostly. The rocks melted their catch quickly; lots of puddles,
little trail rivers.

Got as far as Rhododendron Gap on the windy stroll, then turned back; low
cloud cover made it hard to catch many long views, but as always, as pretty
a spot to be as can be found.

The color line as of Saturday was halfway down from the AT sign up on Massie
Gap to the parking lot below. The pull-out at The Sugarlands was blazing.
The high country was frosted again this morning.
Feel like I got fall and winter both in one jolt.

Glad to be out of the wind, but fires and hot showers are lovely.
