Here is the new footwear that I'm going to be trying out next year.

Growing up in the rural part of East Tennessee, I was barefoot all of the time.  I remember being in elementary school and getting into trouble all of the time for always taking my shoes off.  lol  As soon as I get home from work or stop hiking for the day the first thing I do is take my shoes off.  I love barefooting it.  

My eldest daughter had actually discovered the Vibram Five Fingers and had wanted a pair.  After saving pennies for months and months I was finally able to save enough by her birthday this year for a gift certificate for a pair.  Well, when she didn't even show up for her own birthday party I decided to take that gift card and get a pair for myself.

The KSO Treks are supposed to be really good for running.  I had gone to the Little River Trading Co in Maryville, TN and tried a pair on.  After walking around the store for just a few minutes I was in love!  I talked to a couple of the guys there that own VFF of various models and they both absolutely loved hiking and running in them.

I decided upon the Treks also because they are leather and more durable than the stretchier material of the other models.  The sad part is that they are on back order and will not come in until sometime in February.  :(
