I used the Nixwax on some rain pants and it made them waterproof for a while. After a time the treatment needed re-doing. The problem was I realized the waterproffing was failing while I was on the back side of a mountain. I don't recall ever seeing any manufacturer's recommendation on how long the stuff will work.  Hopeful
