I was out walking the hills in our neighborhood this morning. The trumpeting calls of the Sandhill Cranes began to fill the air. High above the leafless trees, high against the slate gray skies was the unmistakable silhouettes. The vertex of their formation pointed as true as any compass. Oh the joy!
