National Parks Traveler has a recent article about the Shenandoahs in Fall. On the return from the Gathering, Stitches and I returned Babyface to the trail at Big Meadow. Delight to see/smell the woods at 3500 feet! Now someone else was telling me about Mennonite women thruhikers... Stitches?
