[at-l] Contacts?

I wear contacts as well but am a concerned about getting an eye infection
from poking my fingers into my eyes to insert/remove the contacts and
therefore do not wear them when I am out on a hike.  My un-corrected vision
is good enough that I can function fairly well contacts/glasses but do need
something when reading.

Other than just washing your hands prior to handling the contacts, are there
any other precauations that you take?
