 Hey I'm in CA and doing pretty good.  Getting geared up and in shape to do some backpacking in Shasta Trinity NF and Lassen Volcanic NP in the spring.  I haven't carried a pack in so long but I'm gonna try it again.  The only thing that worries me is mountain lions!
