Use a spray containing Permmethrin on all your clothing worn in that environment (Repel is one brand name). Use on clothes not skin. Really cover the clothing completely; one complete dousing will last yhru several washings. Cover underware, socks, everything. It works! I have worked with a biologist that assisted in the research & development

In April alone in my "own" backyard, I have been bitten by over 1 dozen 
ticks, one lone star, one dog and over 10 deer ticks.  I have little 
love for the blood thirsty arachnids.
