[cdt-l] Average CDT age? OT downsizing

Ken is in Idaho right now disposing of his mother's stuff and putting her house on the market (she just entered senior housing). There are auction houses and estate sellers that sell all, split 35-65 with the owner, transport leftovers to charity and take the junk to the dump.

The more we hike, the more I realize that we REALLY don't need much to live happily. Also, if we are not materialistic consumers we are just that much easier on the world's resources. Now I have to Walk my Talk  ; )

I don't have a lot of savings to fall back on.  When I "retire" I'll lose health care until I'm 65.  I"m not sure how to work some of this issues out, yet.  Maybe I can just get a leave of absence for 6 or 7 months and still carry by health insurance with the church I work for.  

And then there is the downsizing.  My wife and I have so much stuff!  I'm amazed we have so much.  And if we downsize where does it all go?  One big eBay sale?

  I turned 50 two days after completing the CDT in 2002 and hope to still be on the trail this year for my 55th.  Yikes, where has the time gone...
