Dear Friends,
   
  I've often found that a selection of thru-hikers of any given trail tend to find their persona by breaking the law or being so completely forward that they make Abbey look like a saint. Abbey had respect, and he wrote for change. Somebody like Dick Bird, c'mon--think about the name ... he's a troll.
