I alway's hike with my poncho!
Take a big one who covers your backpack. i love her, take a spare shoe
string to ty it arownd your waist to prevent it flapping in the wind. i did
the AT, CDT, PCT waring one. and i always walk in it in rainy europ. A rain
coat make me more wet on the inside from swetting then it prevent me from
the rain.

My opinion after more then 20.000 mile of hiking all over the world:
Poncho YES
Raincoat NO
