[Cdt-l] Filter or Filterless

Another topic that I would like some thoughts about is water filtering.

It seems the same sequence of increased sophistication (perhaps) has  
happened to me.

AT = Clorox bleach with no issues.
PCT = PUR pump with no issues.

CDT? My friend zen quake used a SteriPen last year for CO and NM  
(sobo) with no issues. It certainly is lighter but are there  
advantages for a hiker to carrying a 1# water filter pump all the way???

Perhaps a pump in NM. Switch to SteriPen for CO/WY/ID/MT??

Any ideas or thoughts on water filtering for the CDT? Or will bleach  
do the trick??
