[Cdt-l] How far to carry an Ice Axe

Every year is going to be a little different... you might need it later 
in the season this year just to cut steps across some lingering snow 
fingers here & there. Even if 98% of the trail is clear, that one 30ft 
patch of ice in a shaded gully with no easy way around could be a real 
problem. You might not need it much between ~Lincoln to Anaconda 
(though, with the snow situation, who knows?), but might again south of 
there.
