I probably should have sent this sooner-- we got off the trail at Togwotee
Pass on Thurs July 21. The Buffalo River is too deep to ford--it was almost
300 feet wide where we camped 5 miles down from the "CDT ford" and a roiling
mass of white water. We took an alternate route and came out at Togwotee
Pass.

We took the Wolf alternate around the Snake River so we only had to cross it
once--it had it's own challenges, but beautiful country.

I was chest deep crossing the Lewis River (outlet to Shoshone Lake) and we
were wading ankle to calf deep around the southwest end of that lake.

Lots of water-- be careful. If you'd like more details, they're in my
journal at postholer.com/jo.
