[Cdt-l] Fire Report MT

Ley Map MT 19:
On 8/28/2011 I walked past a fire burning about 1/4 mile west of the CDT near Bald Bear Creek just west of Dearborn River. At that time the winds were favorable for the trail. A few miles north I met a forest Ranger at the Welcome Creek Cabin who had just been sent in to keep an eye on the fire. He said the fire was started by a lightning strike a few days earlier. At that time there were no trail closures. A shift in wind could change things quickly resulting in trail closures. Hopefully the rains of 8/31 have quieted things down. Just a heads up.
