Incident: Black Crater wildfire

Effective August 1, 2006, The Deschutes National Forest has enacted an area 
closure.

The closure includes areas east of the Cascade crest (at the boundary of the 
Deschutes National Forest and

Willamette National Forest), bounded by the following:

* Bounded by the north by,(listed west to east):

-South edge of Mt. Washington Wilderness and

-Forest Roads 1030-200, 1030, 1008, 1012, and Highway 242 to Sisters.

* Bounded on the east by,(listed north to south):

-Forest Road 16 to the junction of the 16-1620 road.

* Bounded on the south from the junction of the 16-1620 road west to Soap 
Creek and following along the creek to the Forest boundary.

* Bounded on the west by Deschutes

National Forest boundary with the Willamette National Forest.

This closure includes portions of the Pacific Crest Trail in the Three 
Sisters Wilderness Area east of the Deschutes County Line, between McKenzie 
Pass and the North Sister.

(Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine persuant to Title 
16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 & 3571)

The Oregon Department of Transportation has closed the portion of Oregon 
State Highway 242, from about 1 mile west of Dee Wright

Observatory to just west of Forest Road 1012
