Do I need to pack rain pants for an August walk in the North Cascades?

I agree with everyone else who's already responded - it's wise to be
prepared for extended rain at any time of the year in the North
Cascades. May not happen but it could and it has. And storms in the
North Cascades are usually quite cold and not safe to cut corners on.
That doesn't mean you have to carry a full winter load-out, but do carry
whatever you personally feel you need to deal with multiple days of cold
rain.
