Hey.
Now I havn't actually hiked with this combination yet...so I cant attest to
how well it works in the real world...but in planning a 2007 cdt hike, what I
intend to do is to carry a go lite pack and in those areas where a bear box
is wise...or in those areas where I plan to pack a lot of water...(I've been
in dessert before...with no water...I can't tell you how awful that feeling
is...like my son who was hiking with me says...your eye balls get thirsty,
you have no awareness but for your need of water...)

sorry...the addenduns get a bit long when I'm up late...but...I plan to tie
my pack to a freightliner external frame. It adds 2 pounds in weight, but
allows a whole lot of area to add...water...bear box...what have you..to. And
when you don't need it you can dump it in the bounce box...or at $50
dollars,,,make some local's day by handing it to them and saying..."have a nice day."
