I just forwarded this to Suzanne Wilson, the PCTA soCal staff rep. It's
part of her job to be aware of proposals like this.

Subject: [pct-l] Blackwater Training facility

Hi All just wondering if any one saw this morning's San Diego Union
tribune, front page. Blackwater is a security company from the east coast.
They are going to build a training facility on 824 acres that was part of an
old ranch down by the border. Its in Potrero, Ca. never heard of it before.
Any how its west of Hauser mountains a couple of miles and the article says
they will have, "(8) Eight Rifle ranges, (3) Three Pistol ranges a Helipad,
(4) Four Ship simulators and an Urban simulation training area. Part of it
goes into Cleveland National forest and their map shows cottonwood creek out
behind it. There is a guy that wrote a book on this outfit that is going to
give a talk at a couple of places in San Diego The name of the book:
"Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army".
Hope we won't have problems on the trail. Remember "Be Prepared" Ground
Pounder Bill "Semper Fi"
