A simple question, when and how would you space out 300 thru-hikers?   If the 
natural flow says mid April is the best start date, you're clump is moved  up 
two weeks.
 
Postholer sez June 1st is a good time for entering the Sierra.   If people 
adjust their start date to reach it on time, there's  your clump.
 
I guess we need to boycott Postholer too.
