Good afternoon, Handlebar,
The cabin you missed is the old Sandy River Guard Station, located on the
hillside just as you start the climb out of the Sandy Crossing gravel bar
and head towards the junction to Ramona Falls. It's so close to the trail
that is certainly worth a look, but you really wouldn't wanted to camp
inside. In addition to being musty, moldy, and smelly inside it is posted
to contain hanta virus.
