[pct-l] entering canada without passport

i have a felony on my record from 11 years ago and they say i have to get a tempory residence visa to enter but cant get one, so my question is whats the risk of hiking on into manning park just to catch the greyhound to seattle, is it patrolled? what will happen if im caught in canada without passport or visa?
