[pct-l] entering canada without passport

It is my understanding that you will not stop at the Canada side of the
border on your way back to the states.  It will be the States that will
question you and if they will let you back in without identification ie.

i have a felony on my record from 11 years ago and they say i have to get a
tempory residence visa to enter but cant get one, so my question is whats
the risk of hiking on into manning park just to catch the greyhound to
seattle, is it patrolled? what will happen if im caught in canada without
passport or visa?
